Sync Sonic's Best Installation Projects of the Year
Every year, we complete hundreds of installations at our Bradford and Leeds workshops. From straightforward stereo swaps to elaborate full-system builds, each project brings its own challenges and rewards. Here are our favourite installations from the past year.
BMW 3 Series — Full Focal Build
This customer wanted the ultimate listening experience in their F30 BMW. We installed Focal Performance PS 165 component speakers in the front doors, Focal Access 165 A1 in the rear, a Focal FDP 4.800 amplifier, and a custom-built 10-inch subwoofer enclosure. The result was breathtaking — crystal-clear highs, a rich midrange, and controlled, musical bass.
VW Golf GTI — Stealth Audio Upgrade
The brief was simple: make it sound amazing without changing the car's interior appearance. We fitted an Alpine iLX-W650 behind the OEM fascia, Hertz component speakers, and a Kenwood KAC-M1814 micro amplifier hidden behind the dash. Nobody would know it's been modified until they hear it play.
Ford Transit — Commercial Dash Cam Install
A local delivery company brought in five Ford Transits for Nextbase 622GW installations. Each van was hardwired with parking mode support and GPS tracking. Clean cable routing through the headliner and A-pillar made each install virtually invisible.
Audi A3 — Competition Bass Build
Our most ambitious project of the year: two JL Audio 12W6v3 subwoofers in a custom fibreglass enclosure, powered by a JL Audio JX500/1D amplifier. The system measured 142dB on our meter — properly ear-splitting bass that turns heads at every car meet.
What Makes a Great Installation?
The best installations share common traits: clean cable routing, proper gain structure, solid mounting, and meticulous attention to detail. At Sync Sonic, we treat every car as if it were our own. That's why our customers keep coming back year after year.
